For answers to some of our most-asked questions about classes, booking and the studio, read on.

Do you provide equipment?

Yes. Mats, blocks, bricks, straps, blankets, bolsters and chairs are provided in all studios. £2 hire charge for hot yoga mats. Mats are available to purchase at reception, or bring your own.

Are mobile phones allowed in the centre?

If you must bring your phone into the studio, switch it off and keep it away from your mat, to give yourself the space to switch off and to avoid disturbing others.

Who is yoga suitable for?

Everyone, young or old, flexible or stiff, athletic or deskbound. Yoga is not a religion and requires no particular set of beliefs. All it asks is that you believe in yourself.

Where can I leave my bags and valuables?

Lockers in both changing rooms; small shelving cabinets in the studios for valuables (recommended). The Life Centre is not responsible for loss or damage.

Can I book a class in advance?

Yes, via the website or mobile app, up to 14 days ahead. 70% of places are bookable online; 30% are drop-in only. We recommend booking ahead for evenings.

How do I choose a style and level?

Many styles are available across all levels. See our Classes page for the full breakdown, or ask reception, we'll help you find the right room.

How much time should I allow before class?

Arrive 10–15 minutes before class to check in, change and set up. Doors close 5 minutes after class starts, late arrivals cannot be admitted.

I'm pregnant. Can I practise?

Not in the first trimester. From the second trimester, intermediate-plus students can attend general classes with teacher discretion and GP approval. Hot Yoga is not suitable during pregnancy.

I'm under 18, can I come?

Adult classes are 16+. 16–18 year olds must be accompanied by someone over 18.

Should I eat before class?

Best practised on an empty stomach, no food for at least 2 hours prior. Juice or fruit is fine for a quick boost. Hydrate beforehand, avoid drinking during class.

What are the benefits of practising yoga?

Increased flexibility, strength and stamina, and a greater sense of being at home in your body. Over time, easier access to stillness and meditation.

What is yoga?

A set of practices originating in India over 2,000 years ago, transformative, ancient, and as relevant today as ever. A way to feel more at ease in the body and clearer in the mind.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can stretch and move freely in. Classes are barefoot, no shoes in the studios.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Always inform the teacher before class (including pregnancy or recent childbirth). Teachers reserve the right to ask you not to participate if it isn't appropriate. If unsure whether yoga is right for you, get in touch.
