Community & Outreach

Wellbeing should not depend on what you can afford. Through free classes, charity partnerships and outreach across Manchester, we open our doors — and step outside them.

A studio is a lucky thing to have

Deansgate Haus is a calm, beautiful place to move — but stillness, strength and community are not luxuries. They matter most to the people least able to reach them.

So we give class space, teaching time and our studios to causes across the city, and we are always looking for more ways to do it. If you run a charity, a group or a service and you think we could help, this page is our open invitation to you.

Our free community class

Our community class is exactly that — free, open, and made for people who cannot typically afford a studio membership. Same space, same teaching, no cost and no catch. It runs as a genuine welcome into wellbeing for anyone doing it tough right now, in a room designed to feel safe, gentle and without judgement.

A gentle ask. Spaces are limited and they are here for the people who need them most. If you can comfortably afford a class or a membership, please leave the community class for someone who cannot, and join us on the timetable instead.

Who it is for

People on low incomes

Anyone for whom a membership simply is not affordable right now.

Job seekers

Those out of work and looking, who need a reset as much as anyone.

People without secure housing

Anyone experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

People managing mental health

Where movement and breath are part of staying well.

Carers and the isolated

Unpaid carers, and anyone feeling alone who would value a warm room.

Refugees and new arrivals

People new to the country or city, finding their feet and their community.

Those in recovery

Anyone rebuilding, for whom a supportive routine makes a real difference.

Older people alone

Seniors who would benefit from movement and the company of a class.

Anyone facing hardship

If life is hard right now and this would help, you count. Just come.

Outreach that leaves the studio

International Yoga Day

Every year we throw open the doors for a free, all-welcome event to celebrate International Yoga Day — a no-cost invitation for the whole city to move together, whether it is your first class or your thousandth.

Chair yoga in care homes

We work with local nursing and care homes to bring gentle chair yoga to residents: accessible, seated movement for people who cannot come to us. We would love to reach more homes across the city.

Charity partnerships

We partner with charities across Manchester — discounted rates for their people, free studio space for their events, and our teachers’ time. If your cause aligns with wellbeing, there is almost always a way we can help.

Work with us

Come to us — host it at the Haus

Bring your group into our studios for a session, a workshop or an event. Discounted rates for the people you support, free studio space for the right community events, experienced teachers across yoga, pilates and more, and a calm, welcoming, judgement-free space.

We come to you — outreach at your venue

Cannot come to us? We will bring wellbeing to your space instead. Chair yoga and gentle movement for care settings, fitness and wellbeing sessions at your venue, one-off events or ongoing programmes, tailored to your group’s needs and abilities.

Ideas to start from

Charity sweat events

A donation-based class or a sponsored session where every penny goes to your cause.

Subsidised class blocks

Discounted or funded blocks of classes for the people your organisation supports, so cost is never the barrier.

Wellbeing for frontline teams

Sessions for carers, NHS staff, charity workers and volunteers — the people who spend themselves looking after others.

Youth and schools sessions

Movement, breath and confidence work for young people who might never otherwise step into a studio.

Cause-led events

Free or donation events tied to the days and causes that matter — mental health, homelessness, women’s health and more.

Whatever you are planning

Already have an event, a campaign or a day in mind? Tell us, and we will find a way to bring wellbeing into it.

Got an idea we have not thought of?

We are genuinely open to new initiatives, collaborations and experiments. If you have a vision for doing something good in Manchester through movement, bring it to us.

Let’s build something for the city.
